Some recognitions celebrate a single moment. Others become even more meaningful when they are maintained over time.
For the third consecutive year, VIVOOD Landscape Hotel has retained its MICHELIN Key, once again securing its place among the hotels recognised by the prestigious MICHELIN Guide.
And for us, there is an additional reason to be proud: we remain the only hotel in the province of Alicante to hold this distinction.
We first received the award in 2024 and, three years later, it continues to recognise a way of understanding hospitality based on landscape, design, personalised service and attention to every detail.
More than an award, we see this Key as recognition of an experience we build every day together with those who choose VIVOOD to disconnect.
What does it mean to have a MICHELIN Key?
MICHELIN Keys are the hotel equivalent of the well-known MICHELIN Stars in gastronomy. Through them, the Guide’s inspectors distinguish hotels capable of offering some of the most exceptional accommodation experiences in their selection.
There is no single hotel model that defines the selection. MICHELIN evaluates very different types of properties according to five common criteria. And it is precisely within those criteria that we find many of the principles that form part of the essence of VIVOOD.
A hotel connected to its destination
One of the aspects valued by MICHELIN is the hotel’s ability to act as a true gateway to the place in which it is located.
At VIVOOD, the Guadalest Valley is not simply the setting that surrounds us. It is part of the experience.
The architecture opens onto the mountains, the rooms act as viewpoints over the landscape, and much of our wellness, gastronomy and experience offering is born from that connection with the surroundings.
Our cuisine also speaks of the place. We work with local and zero-kilometre produce, reinterpreting traditional recipes and flavours through a more contemporary approach. A gastronomic proposal that maintains a strong connection with the territory while adding a creative and avant-garde touch to every experience.
Our goal has always been to offer a different way of experiencing Alicante: with time, silence, nature and local flavour.
Architecture that lets the landscape take centre stage
Excellence in architecture and interior design is another of the key criteria in the MICHELIN selection.
VIVOOD was created as Spain’s first landscape hotel, with architecture conceived to blend into nature rather than compete with it.
Each suite, villa, terrace and common area seeks to maintain a direct relationship with the outdoors. Large windows, clean lines and buildings integrated into the terrain allow the Guadalest Valley itself to shape the experience.
Because for us, design is not simply about creating beautiful spaces. It is about making sure everything helps you disconnect.
A service defined by the smallest details
MICHELIN also assesses the quality and consistency of service, comfort and the overall care of the guest experience.
It is probably one of the least visible aspects in a photograph, yet one of the elements that most influences how a stay is remembered.
At VIVOOD, we understand service through closeness, personalisation and discretion. From the welcome to a wellness experience, a dinner or a detail prepared in the room, we want every guest to feel that their stay has been individually cared for.
That attention to detail is also what gives the experience its sense of exclusivity and singularity. It is not only about offering a privileged setting, but about making every stay feel unique, special and designed around the person experiencing it.
Architects, therapists, reception, restaurant, housekeeping and maintenance teams all form part of that experience. Our brand philosophy places the focus on conscious hospitality, where true luxury also means feeling looked after in a warm, thoughtful and exceptional way.
A personality of its own: doing things our way
Another of the Guide’s fundamental criteria is the individuality, personality and authenticity of the hotel.
VIVOOD was never created with the intention of resembling other hotels.
It was born around a very specific idea: to create a place where nature, architecture, silence and wellbeing could help guests escape the pace of everyday life for a few days.
That is what we continue to call The Luxury of Escape.
A way of understanding luxury that does not depend only on material things, but on space, time, privacy and the emotions a stay is capable of creating.
Three years that confirm a way of doing things
Receiving a MICHELIN Key in 2024 was a great source of pride. Retaining it in 2025 confirmed that the recognition was not tied to a single moment. And renewing it again in 2026 makes it even more meaningful: three consecutive years as part of the MICHELIN Guide’s hotel selection.
Remaining the only hotel in the province of Alicante with a MICHELIN Key also reinforces a way of understanding hospitality based on landscape, design, wellbeing and, above all, thoughtful and personalised service.
But this recognition also belongs to the people who make VIVOOD possible every day. To the entire team who, from very different areas, work with extraordinary dedication to ensure that every stay maintains the level of detail, quality and care that defines the way we welcome our guests.
To them, thank you.
Because recognitions matter, but what we truly want to preserve is that feeling that remains once the stay is over.
The Luxury of Escape.
