From wooden houses to a sustainable hotel in the heart of nature. That was the journey of Daniel Mayo, architect and founder of VIVOOD, in bringing Spain’s first landscape hotel to life. After an initial stage focused on self-assembled homes, he transitioned to the hotel industry in 2015, supported by a team of experts in architecture, design, and tourism. This is how VIVOOD was born: a pioneering project that integrates sustainability, design, and well-being in a unique natural setting. Today, it stands as a benchmark for exclusive getaways in nature and a leading example of sustainable hospitality in the Alicante region — a true expression of The Luxury of Escape.

VIVOOD is nature, and it is also sustainability. From day one, sustainability has been the core of the hotel’s design and philosophy, combining comfort and responsible architecture in full harmony with the Guadalest Valley.
Our commitment to sustainable tourism goes beyond environmental care: it also includes the social and economic responsibility through a 360º approach that strengthens the local community and promotes fair, balanced development.
This promise is reflected in tangible actions: energy efficiency, responsible consumption, environmental education, and positive-impact projects. We operate with over 1,000 m² of solar panels, grow produce in our own organic garden, and collaborate with local suppliers. Additionally, guests are offered the opportunity to offset their carbon footprint during their stay.

Where Architecture and Nature Mee
The architecture of VIVOOD Landscape Hotel is a declaration of intent: a commitment to conscious, sustainable design deeply rooted in nature. Every structure was conceived to offer an immersive experience, seamlessly and respectfully integrated into in the environment without altering its beauty.
VIVOOD was built on a clear premise: to blend into the landscape and honor the natural surroundings. The project was a true architectural and design challenge, resolved through modular construction and the use of materials such as wood and viroc, which adapt well to the mountainous setting of the Guadalest Valley.
Each suite has been designed to provide independence, privacy, and uninterrupted panoramic views, without compromising comfort. The layout of the rooms follows an organic structure around a central axis that organizes pathways and ensures the absolute silence that defines the VIVOOD experience.
Our design follows the principles of the Landscape Hotel Manifesto: topographic integration, privacy, absence of light pollution, open views, ecological respect, perceptive luxury, and sustainability. An architectural concept that redefines nature-based lodging through respect and contemplation — and brings to life The Luxury of Escape.
