The Pilates method, designed by Joseph Pilates, is still a reference in the world of wellness in 2025. Recommended by physiotherapists and practised by thousands of people around the world, this system of exercises is ideal for improving muscle tone, relaxing body and mind, and connecting with one’s own breathing and posture.
Its benefits can be felt in just a few weeks without the need for high-impact exercise, as the focus is on toning the body and improving flexibility, rather than burning calories.
To get started in this discipline, it is best to attend classes guided by professional instructors who will help you perfect the postures and synchronise your breathing with each movement. And what better place to do this than in a hotel in the countryside, where tranquillity and the environment play a key role in the experience.

Practising Pilates in a natural environment enhances its benefits. At VIVOOD, a luxury hotel in nature, we have designed a complete wellness experience, where our guests can do Pilates sessions outdoors, surrounded by serene landscapes that invite you to disconnect and balance.

Pilates exercises
The hundred
Lie on a mat on your back with your arms parallel to your body. Keep your legs raised, together and bent at the knee. Raise your upper torso until your shoulders are off the ground, moving your arms up and down several times, like flapping your wings. Start slowly until you reach 100 arm movements.
Forward roll
Sitting, knees touching the chest and wrapping both hands around the legs from underneath. Rock like in a rocking chair, slowly, first backwards and then forwards. Do this exercise about 8 times.
Leg circles
Lie on your back with your arms parallel to your body. Raise one leg without bending it and without forcing. Make 10 complete circular movements and lower the leg. Then do the same with the other leg. Then repeat the exercise, but now change the direction of rotation.
Stretching the legs
Lie on your back and bring one leg towards your chest, bending at the knee and keeping the other leg extended. Put one hand on your ankle and the other on the knee of the bent leg. Then do the same pilates exercise by changing legs, inhaling each time you change legs.

Benefits of practising Pilates in nature
Relaxes the mind and body
It is perfect for getting rid of muscle tension and stress, controlling breathing, maintaining concentration and becoming aware of the body.
Improves muscle tone
It strengthens the body without the need for intense muscular exercises, giving a better body shape, increasing vitality and stamina, and improving joints and coordination of movements.
Improves body posture
It favours the alignment of the spine, counteracts the action of incorrect posture due to bad habits and prevents or reduces back pain.
All this is within your reach in a zen hotel like VIVOOD where you will find the best offer for a relaxing holiday, totally disconnecting for a well-deserved rest.
